Self-study leads to awareness, communication and union with spirit Yoga Sutra ch 2 v 44

According to the Yoga Sutras, self-study is the experience of turning the attention inward to become aware of what your mind is doing, how your body is feeling and what your emotions are telling you. This awareness needs to be regularly practiced and sustained, so that at any given time you can accurately assess your current situation, know which direction you want to take, reflect on the outcome of your actions and finally integrate this knowledge into daily life.

The practice of yoga is a step on the path to self-knowledge, giving you quality time with yourself to explore what\\\'s going on beneath the surface.
